After an exciting and eventful two-day live final, the winning team of this year's MARGA Online Competition has been announced!
Online Competition 2023/2024: ENNI Energie & Umwelt Niederrhein GmbH triumphs in the grand final
The MARGA Online Competition 2023/2024 once again brought together talents from various companies who competed against each other in an intense competition. The program, which lasts around six months, culminates in an exciting final round in which the four best teams go head-to-head.
The competition: from the main round to the final
Starting signal and main round
The MARGA Online Competition began in fall 2023 with the participation of a total of 28 teams from national and international companies. After two test rounds, the teams had to prove their management skills in the main round and make strategic decisions in order to lead their virtual company to success. The task was to
- analyze the market
- develop competitive strategies
- to produce, further develop, place on the market and promote products
- manage finances and make investment decisions
After five exciting game periods the best four teams qualified for the final round:
- Team 5: ENNI
- Team 14: SCHOTT AG
- Team 15: SCHOTT AG
- Team 19: Brose Group
The final round: High excitement and decisions under pressure
New challenges
The teams were confronted with a new and challenging starting situation in the first final round. The teams had to give their all in five game periods to lead their companies to the top. The decisive questions were:
- Who can apply the management know-how they have learned most effectively?
- Who can adapt most flexibly to changes?
- Which team works together most efficiently?
- Who can develop the most successful strategy?
The first four game periods
The first four game periods of the final round were played in a greatly shortened time frame, which required the teams to make quick and precise decisions. These phases of the competition not only tested the participants’ strategic thinking, but also their ability to work together under pressure and find efficient solutions.
The big final event on May 23, 2024
Virtual Encounter
On May 23, the four finalist teams met virtually for the first time in the grand final event. The day began with the introduction of the teams and their companies. Then the decisive fifth game period began. Each team had 90 minutes to play the final round and make their final decisions. The tension was palpable as the teams discussed their thoughts and implemented the final decisions. All teams proved once again that they rightly belong in the TOP 4 and put in a strong performance. It remained exciting right to the end.

Festive conclusion
In addition to all MARGA employees and the four finalist teams as well as guests of honor from the respective companies attended the celebratory closing of the competition on May 24 to support their teams.
The well-deserved victory
Team 5 from ENNI finally prevailed over the strong competition by a strong margin of 75 million euros and won the MARGA Online Competition 2023/2024. This win is a testament to their outstanding strategic thinking, efficient teamwork and acquired management know-how.
A special conclusion
After the winners were announced, the win wass celebrated. The joy and relief were palpable as the teams and their supporters came together to share this special moment. Because in the end, MARGA is more than just a competition. It is a unique learning experience that makes all participants winners.
The MARGA Online Competition 2023/2024 was once again an exciting and educational experience for everyone involved. It offered participants the opportunity to test their management skills in a dynamic simulation and gain valuable experience. We congratulate Team 5 from ENNI on their outstanding success and are already looking forward to the next competition!
