The business simulation MARGA
The business simulation MARGA conveys the participants how to lead a company as a team. In an environment close to reality they run a virtual company and make their own management decisions in all functional areas of the simulated company: Marketing, Production, Personnel, Finance. A complex controlling tool supports the teams in making informed decisions and shows the drivers which influence the company value.
Within a dynamic competition the teams compete with each other. This provokes emotions and enthusiasm. Each business simulation company is measured by performance figures. The company with the highest company value wins the competition.
Use of the business simulation
The business simulation is used within talent management and change management programs by both national and international companies and universities. The target groups are young professionals and trainees, experts and managers as well as executives.
According to your strategic orientation of your training course you can define a focus on one of the following topics: General Management, Financial Basics, Financial Management, Service Management, Strategic Management, Technology Management, Team & Leadership, Strategy Execution as well as Business Transformation.

Formats of the business simulation
Our open programs
The MARGA business simulation is offered in four different formats:
The MARGA Online Competition is training 'on the job', in which teams participate in the business simulation from their place of work via the internet. This means they enter into an exciting competition with other companies. Only the best four teams are invited to the live final.
The MARGA Compact Seminar is an open three days seminar, in which the participants alternate between in-class key speeches and the practical team work in the business simulation.
MARGA Blended Learning is our famous mix of in-class modules with key speeches and virtual team work in the online business simulation.
The MARGA Online Training is our three-week on the job training, that is a combination of guided online modules, individual learning and virtual team work.
History: MARGA - Pioneers of business management simulations
The business simulation MARGA goes back to the year 1971. The then University Seminar of Economics (Universitätsseminar der Wirtschaft, USW, today: ESMT European School of Management and Technology) was the first service provider to develop the MARGA business management simulation, and implemented it in its management programs. In the same year, together with the Handelsblatt publishing group, the MARGA Open Online Competition was carried out which still takes place every year.
