Dr. Christoph Heinen

Christoph Heinen studied Business Administration at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. In 1994 he earned a diploma in Business Administration.

After his studies Christoph worked as research assistant and lecturer at USW Schloss Gracht. His main focus was open enrollment and custom executive education programmes on business administration. In 1997 he became Manager of the General Management Business Simulation MARGA. Besides that he was a faculty member of the Executive MBA at the University of St. Gallen. In 2002 he finished his Ph.D. at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf. Subsequently Christoph gained five years professional experience as Managing Director of both the WZLforum GmbH and the RWTH International Academy GmbH in Aachen. As director of studies and faculty member he was also in charge of the Executive MBA for Technology Managers at RWTH Aachen University, University of St. Gallen and at the Fraunhofer Technology Academy. Christoph has held teaching positions at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Cologne and at the University of Applied Sciences in Magdeburg-Stendal. Since 2007 he has taken over the responsibility for MARGA Business Simulations GmbH as Managing Director.

Andreas E. Nill

Andreas Nill studied computer science and information science in Konstanz at the University of Applied Sciences and University respectively. He earned a diploma both as computer scientist and as information scientist.

Andreas gained professional experience during internships at Georg Fischer in Schaffhausen (Switzerland) and Hewlett-Packard in Böblingen. As a freelancer he took over project responsibility for Hewlett-Packard and the ISC-International Management Symposium in St. Gallen. For four years Andreas worked at the German National Research Center for Information Technology as project manager of the European project AVANTI. In 1999 he joined the business simulation group at USW (now USW Netzwerk). In 2004 he became Head of eLearning at ESMT European School of Management and Technology. In 2007 Andreas was appointed as Managing Director of ‘MARGA Business Simulations GmbH’ in Erftstadt/Germany. He has published articles in the field of adaptive systems and user modelling in various international journals, e.g. The New Review of Hypermedia and Multimedia.

MARGA Business Simulations - Management training for high potentials and executives

MARGA Business Simulations is a General Management training in which the participants manage all departments and functions of a simulated company in teams. This strategic simulation is suited to gain an overall entrepreneurial perspective. Participants get to know management skills and have to apply their knowledge within the game. Being a General Management business simulation, MARGA imparts interdisciplinary perspectives which enable participants to gain insights into all functional areas of a company: marketing, production, finance and controlling.

Besides the classic talent management it is possible to apply MARGA into the framework of change management to show changes and make them easily comprehensible. Not only to accept the changes but also to support them actively.

The approach of MARGA Business Simulations ensures a unique transfer of knowledge to thinking and acting in an entrepreneurial way.
